Requesting Permission to Land (Eventually)

I’m in an in-between moment. You know the kind: not quite one thing, not quite another. Currently I’m swirling in a soup of emotions—part exhaustion, part anticipation, part “can someone just bring me a cuppa and tell me everything’s going to be okay?”

Life feels lately like a jigsaw puzzle someone dumped out on the floor, then wandered off with the box lid. There are lovely pieces—my daughter and her fiancé visiting at the cottage (cue Rumikub, pork ribs, and strawberry shortcake)—but there are edgier ones, like being a full-time emotional air traffic controller for my ancient mom, who needs a lot of care right now. It’s a tender, consuming, confusing kind of angst.

I’m not writing much at the moment, mostly because I feel I have nothing to say. I feel like closing all the shutters—cocooning. Acting like a decorative pillow. But here I am, sending out a feeler to say: if you’re also in a fog, if your inner spark is sputtering—same here, my friend. And I think it’s okay. This too shall pass. Send good vibes!
